BAT Continues its Seventy Seventh Anniversary Year Celebration by Unleashing a Series of Donations, Charitable Activity

The first meeting of Beta Alpha Tau was held Sept. 19, 1929; the most recent meeting was Monday November 20th, 2006- meeting # 3,953. The Passive BAT Club met at RN Myers Apartments to honor its oldest known living member Paul Milner'33 from Shaker Heights High School. We announced a few of the initial rounds of our donations over the last two months and upcoming charitable events and ideas to aid our community and the world.

Cleveland, Ohio (PRWeb) November 27, 2006 -- This month, BAT passives of Cleveland Heights High donated $4,460 of their excess Reunion 77 Funds to aid children at Rainbows Babies and Children's and the Taussig Cancer Center at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Additionally, a $2,200 donation was made to Reaching Heights, triggering a one-for-one match from the George Gund Foundation. Last month, the BAT Passive club donated $2,300 to the Monarch School in honor of passive Victor Gelb's 80th birthday celebration.

"The continued interest of this group of Heights High alums is welcomed and appreciated. Their loyalty to the Cleveland Heights-University Heights school district and willingness to invest in its future success is inspiring. It exemplifies the kind of citizen interest that is critical to our efforts as a resource for this remarkable public school system," said Reaching Heights Executive Director Susie Kaeser.

BAT closed out the month of November with a significant cash, food, and clothing donation for the homeless to St. Malachi's. The group also feed the homeless at the Breadline at St. Malachi's www.stmalachi.org/parish/map1.htm Saturday November 26, 2006 along their children and grandchildren.

Founder Dr Robert Bachman wrote these prophetic words on March 24, 1934: Has the idea of a permanent club carrying on among men out in the world and sprouting from this very organization ever entered your heads? The Passive Organization and its holding together is the key to the success of this dream. Keep it in mind and it will broaden your outlook no end. Let us stick together as long as we may.
