Beta Alpha Tau and BlueBridge Networks, LLC Respond to the Red Cross Appeal to Provide Blood To Local Hospitals During the Holiday Season

It isn't every day you can do something to save someone's life - but that's exactly what you do every time you donate blood. Blood is a priceless gift - a lifesaver. Even the best-trained medical personnel, using the most advanced equipment are helpless in the event a patient needs blood. The gift of blood can only come from another human being ....there are no substitutes. The need for blood is constant. The American Red Cross has to supply blood for over 15,000 transfusions a week -- just in Northern Ohio alone.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) December 22, 2006 -- Beta Alpha Tau and BlueBridge Networks, LLC have responded to the American Red Cross, Northern Ohio Region Blood Services holiday appeal to ward off any blood shortages. A Blood Drive will be held at the Sterling Building at 1255 Euclid Avenue on the first floor in Downtown Cleveland.

Mr. Adelman, CEO of BlueBridge said, "We are opening our doors to the Red Cross and Beta Alpha Tau to carry out their critical mission on December 27th, 2006 from 9:00 am-2:00 pm." He further stated, "We have a moral responsibility to think of others in need at this time; the shortage is real and we can all do our part to bridge the gap."

Kevin Goodman, Co-Chair of BAT said, "Because the need for blood can increase faster than the number of people donating it, northeast Ohioans are urged to donate blood during the holiday season as soon as possible. He further stated,"A plea is being made to those who have never donated blood before to please try to donate now. To donate blood you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health".

According to Douglas E. Mekinda, Donor Recruitment Representative, "Potential donors can call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE, or go to www.redcrossdonor.org to find a location in their area of work or home in order to donate blood".
